Our patients deserve no less than exceptional care. This is what we believe at SSM Health St. Louis. The FUTURES Nursing Academy for elite graduate nurses builds the foundation of this care. The graduate nurse will experience a rigorous clinical and didactic training period where they are guided through both extensive classroom education and intense clinical training. All the while, the nurses receive one-on-one attention and a curriculum tailored to their individual needs. The ultimate goal is for elite graduates of the FUTURES program to join the staff of SSM Health St. Louis and continue our tradition of providing exceptional care.
Our Promise: Best Care. Best Results.
By providing the right care in the right place at the right time, we are ensuring the best possible outcome. Not only do we deliver exceptional results, but also thoughtful and sensitive care, attuned to each patient’s particular needs. This is the essence of our care.
A Challenging and Rewarding Curriculum
A comprehensive curriculum and hands-on instruction has been carefully planned to enrich and complement the graduate nurse’s education. Through the guidance of our experienced staff, nurses will undertake the challenge of full-time patient care. The intensive curriculum is designed to enhance each nurse’s confidence and practical skill.
Topics of instruction will prepare the novice nurse to care for patients in the acute medical and telemetry settings. The didactic education will include assessment and intervention. Each course utilizes SSM protocols for managing disease processes while incorporating critical thinking and effective decision-making skills related to clinical judgment.
will also allow time for hands-on practice of applicable technology/equipment.
Course topics include disease management scenarios such as cardiac, renal, neurological and respiratory, while incorporating techniques and tips for prioritization, critical thinking and delegation. The program supports participants through weekly classes as well as regular opportunities to share experiences.
