Good Samaritan Regional Health Center is a 134-bed hospital located in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. The state-of-the-art facility opened in January 2013 and features some of the region's most advanced health care services, including emergency; cardiology, both interventional and open heart; maternity; cancer care and occupational medicine and rehabilitation. The Mt. Vernon campus is one of two regional hospitals that make up St. Mary's Good Samaritan, Inc., one of the largest health care organizations serving a nine-county region in Southern Illinois.

About Mt. Vernon
Known as the "King City," Mt. Vernon has 15,200 residents and is the seat of Jefferson County. A family-friendly community, Mt. Vernon is home to Cedarhurst, a 90-acre hub of arts and culture. The grounds feature the Mitchell Museum and host the Cedarhurst Craft Fair each year. The city hosts Market Days, an open-air market similar to a craft fair during the warm months. Mt.
